Finding the "funny" in being a mom

Ah, motherhood -- the second oldest profession! My cohorts and I at "MOMologues" believe that, as exhausting and unrelenting motherhood is, it is still "the toughest job you'll ever love." And very, very funny -- at times, usually many days after the fact. So we invite all you moms out there to share your favorite parenting stories, vent about the things that make you crazy, and hopefully find a little sanity in the fact that you are not alone: there are plenty more of us out here dealing with the craziness of raising kids.

Please jump in and share!

No, I'm sorry, children are genetically programmed to ignore your every command! You COULD do what I do: wrestle them to the floor and manually brush their teeth yourself.

Or, have your dentist give them threatening lectures about tooth decay. It's really up to you.

I'm afraid even if you DON'T enforce the rules, you are not guaranteed a nice dinner. I, for one, am waiting for the day I don't have to raise my voice AT ALL at the dinner table, unless it's to rant about current events. So, I say, plan to spend every dinner time repeating the litany of phrases we heard endlessly ourselves, and some day your little angels will internalize them. Until then, plan adult dinners every now and then.

...and do you make sure to buy the nut-free candy so the peanut allergy kids have something to choose, or buy little toys/gifts for everyone? How can you be inclusive in every way?
Personally, I buy things I like, so when there's leftover candy, I can eat it! but that's just me :)
